At Little Coasties Kindergarten we recognise the value of each child and adult at our centre, and believe in their potential to do great things in the future.
Together with our families, we recognise that the most important aspects of life and learning are relationships. Children develop a sense of belonging, self-esteem and a disposition for lifelong learning within a social context.
It is our aim to facilitate positive, trusting and meaningful relationships with in an environment that encourages learning, development and positive life experiences.

To ensure high quality care, by fostering a home-like environment, embracing partnerships with families and endeavouring to develop caring relationships through warm interactions, consistency and continuity of care.
At Little Coasties Kindergarten, we practice a holistic approach to learning through play, which is supported by the Early Years Learning Framework. This Framework gives our Educators guidance in supporting learning through many ways, and which reflects the needs, abilities and interests of every child.
We recognise that children across all age groups will grow and learn in different ways, and treat each and every child as a unique individual, so that they can play, learn and grow alongside other children, Educators, their families and the community.
We document children’s learning and share it directly with our families, via ‘Kinderloop’. This is an APP on your phone or device and also can be accessed on your computer. Kinderloop allows families and Educators to connect learning at home with learning at preschool. Kinderloop supports us in ensuring children’s development is being carefully observed and ongoing learning goals are developed alongside families.
We believe in a play based learning curriculum for children whereby they have the opportunity to learn and develop through play.
Little Coasties Kindergarten is licensed by the NSW Human Services, Community Services and must adhere at all times to The Children’s Services Regulation 2004 (as amended). All staff conduct their daily practices in accordance with the centre policies and procedures, which are available in a Policy Folder in each room and also in the parent information centre in the foyer. These policies cover all aspects of the centre’s daily operations and are there to protect children/families and staff. Our policies are regularly reviewed and updated in conjunction with parents and staff.
On enrolment, parents are required to agree in writing that they will abide by centre policies and procedures. This is mandatory and is included in our enrolment application.
Little Coasties Kindergarten is assessed against the National Quality Standard for Early Childhood Education and Care, and these ratings have been awarded in accordance with the Education and Care Services National Law Act 2010. This is an ongoing process of Quality Improvement where Staff and Management work with families to ensure that their needs and expectations are being thoroughly met with the service we provide.
We recently went into the process of Assessment and Rating, with the goal of improving on our rating of ‘Working Towards’ received in 2013.
